Restaurant Overlay District

I have just received the documents for tonight's meeting of the Planning Commission where 2 draft ordinances establishing new and revised definitions, and creating new regulations including a  Administrative Restaurant Use Permit will be discussed.

Planning/Landmarks Commission

The agenda of today's (12/12/07) meeting lists a number of items of interest to reader's of this  blog.

• The minutes of the October 24 meeting contain a record of the discussion regarding the mixed-use development with 363 student-oriented residential unites at 2545-2565 E. Chapman Ave that may be part of the conceptual Education District or Gateway.
• The approval of Phase 1 of the rehabilitation of the Fox Theatre will be considered when the Planning Commission puts on its Landmarks Commission hats. Staff recommends approval of the project subject to some findings and recommendations.

Amerige Heights Specific Plan Change

There will be public hearing at the July 25 meeting of the planning commission regarding "a request for a major site plan and tract map to construct 136 attached residential condominium units and amend the Amerige Heights Specific Plan (Amendment #1) to change the northern 10 acres of the area currently identified as Mixed-Use with Elder Care Overlay to a residential neighborhood (Neighborhood 6) and eliminate the Elder Care Overlay in its entirety on property located on the south side of Hughes Drive, between Bastanchury Greenbelt Park and Nicolas Street.
